A small team goes first.

Big organisations do not build the future by moving everyone at once. They build it because a small team goes first. We have been that team since we founded Hive in 2012, building new categories, incubating ventures and scaling growth inside someone else's organisation.

What we do

The shape of the problem changes, but the method stays the same.

01

New category

Building a product or business in a category that does not exist yet for the organisation.

02

Incubation

Standing up a new venture inside a larger company with its own team, brand and pace. Startups From Within: a business built inside the business, re-imagining the parent's own assets rather than starting from zero.

03

Growth phase

Taking something already proven and helping it scale from pilot to mass market, bringing the structure, governance, speed and resilience it needs to get there, and prioritising the roadmap along the way.

04

Digital transformation

Modernising a legacy platform, process or operating model without stopping the business, spanning the platform, the data stack and the products that sit on top.

05

Hyper-care

Swarming into a category or platform under real pressure: understanding the problem fast, then stabilising the organisation, the talent, the coaching and the product itself.

Selected work

Proven in corporates, global telecoms, PE-backed platforms and startups.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same process, whatever the category.

01

Vision first

Define the problem, the unmet need or the outcome, then build a goal-led roadmap that ties back to strategy and commercial value.

02

Build fast, test early

Rapid prototyping and real customer validation, with product, design, engineering, data and operations working hands-on together from day one.

03

Scale with the network

The core team stays lean. Engineering, product marketing, storytelling and industrial design get pulled in exactly when the work needs them, not before.

04

Align, communicate, deliver

Transparent updates and a delivery rhythm tracking real impact, with the same discipline whether the audience is a board, an exec or a founder.

The principles

Ten things we do every time.

01

Culture is the product

Before anything gets built, the culture does. Shaped with intention, never finished, and treated with the same rigour as the product itself.

02

Act like a startup, whatever the size

Small squads, real decision-making authority, and a bias to test and learn over process and sign-off.

03

Swarm the problem

Find the gap, the customer issue or the stalled category and put a lean team on it that moves faster than the core business can.

04

Customer signal over assumption

Validate early with real users. Prototype and test before committing to a direction.

05

Ask why

Challenge legacy process, slow sign-off and we have always done it this way. If it does not serve the customer, question it.

06

Nurture and bring in talent

Grow the people already in the team and bring in the right talent at the right moment. Both matter equally.

07

Build to scale

Deliver something that can move straight from pilot to P&L: productised, repeatable and resilient.

08

Stakeholder fluency

Translate between product, commercial and executive priorities constantly, so momentum never stalls on misalignment.

09

Tell the story, inside and out

A clear internal narrative that brings the organisation along, and genuine external excitement that gives the work a life beyond the business.

10

Own the full stack

Hardware, software, platform and data stack alike. Creating our own IP, and partnering with the best when it makes the product stronger.

What people say

It is rare to come across a product designer as strongly committed to driving positive change for customers.
